All of the human hair used in making these wigs is OPTIMUM CUTICLE HAIR (OCH), which employs the entire hair strand with cuticle intact. Other manufacturers may use hair that has been stripped of the cuticle to force unnatural direction. This method is less expensive to use, but in order to obtain more natural movement and better light-reflective qualities, the whole hair strand is used. Remy hair is essentially Virgin hair, but it may have been chemically lightened, tinted or permed.
Most of these fine wigs are made with the addition a full Monofilament top for the most natural appearance possible in a wig. The transparent Mono mesh top shows the natural scalp color and allows multi-directional styling. It is created by a painstaking process that requires carefully hand-knotting individual hairs into the ultra-fine mesh in order to allow the hair to flow more naturally, simulating the hair growth on a real scalp.
